History:
The main Deity Laxmi Narsimha Swamy is “Swayambhuvu “and is an ancient one dated back to Kakatiya regime of 13th Century.
The iodole and Vahanas are of excellent sculpture of Srikrishna Devaraya regime of 16th century.
During the latter period of 18th century Lord ordered in the dreams of the Land Lord Late Sri Gundamraju Krishnayya for reconstruction and improvements.
Accordingly the temple was renewed and improved with all” Archana Schedules” of “pancharathna Agama” and is being continued till the date through “Gundamraju” family as hereditary founder trustees. Government of Andhra Pradesh has identified it as an “Archeological important temple” and declared as protected monument.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
History says that the Lord was with “Rishi Proktha” for many centuries and latter for the welfare of mankind. His figure was found to mankind with the blessings of “Garuda”(Vahana of Lord Vishnu). A rare feature “Garuda” is adorned on “Dwajasthambha”, such is the only rare temple in this region.
